SMOP empowers users with the ability to manage their own passwords.
Taking advantage of SMOP is a simple two step process.
Enrollment: The user enrolls by providing their login information, and then answering a set of questions that will help identify them uniquely. The administrator can control how many questions are required for enrollment and the wording of these questions. Please remember that this enrollment process is intended to be simple and should take only a couple of minutes to complete.
Use SMOP! Once enrolled, the user can go to the SMOP URL whenever they have a password issue or their account gets locked out
SMOP can help users be more productive in the following scenarios:
Forgotten Password: Users go to the SMOP User Web Page, click on "Reset Password", identify themselves by answering their secret questions, and reset their passwords. It's that simple!
Account Locked Out: If the user's account is locked out (too many unsuccessful login attempts or some other reason), they can unlock their account themselves. Users go to the SMOP User Web Page, click on "Unlock Account", identify themselves by answering their secret questions, and unlock their account by providing their new password. That's it!
Change Password (via the Web): The user may only need to change their password, and SMOP can help do this for users as well. There are times when it is easier for a user to change their password via the Web than through the normal process in Windows. SMOP can take care of this. Just click on the "Change Password", give their old password, and give their new password. Cool!
Use SMOP from handheld devices: Users can use SMOP from web pages optimized for smaller screens such as cell phones and smart phones.
