Configuring SMOD for first time use

After setup completes successfully, you are only a few steps away from starting to use SMOD.  All the steps can be performed through the SMOD administrative pages.  

 

The following steps should be performed:

Required Steps

Configure SMOD service account

Configure at least one domain

Specify Company Information

Set a default category

That's it!  You can start using SMOD!  But wait!  To get the most out of SMOD - do the optional configuration items also.  

Optional Configuration

SMOD starts with a common configuration of categories and attributes that can be used right away.  You may choose to perform the following optional configuration to get the most out of SMOD:

Customize and configure categories and attributes

Configure helpdesk URL and helpdesk name

Specify excluded OU's
