Configuration - Domain Management

Overview

The domain management section allows the SMOD admin to configure the domains that will be used by SMOD.  These domains will be displayed to the user at login time in a drop down box.

 

The following screenshot shows the domain management configuration section:

Domain

The list shows the available domains.  If the domain is not enabled, it will be a gray color.  The domains that are enabled will show up in the SMOD user login screen as shown:

Status:

image5.gifInactive Domain: This status means that the domain is currently not active in SMOD and will not show up in the user login section in the drop down box for Domain.

 

 

image6.gifActive Domain: This status means that the domain is currently active in SMOD and will show up in the user login section in the drop down box for Domain.  

 

 

Action:

image3.gifDeactivate: This will de-activate the domain.  The domain will still exist in the SMOD configuration for later use.  The domain will no longer show up in the user login section in the drop down box for Domain.

 

 

image4.gifActivate: This will activate the domain and enumerate the attributes for this domain.  After the domain is activated, it will show up in the user login section in the drop-down box for Domain.     

 

Adding a domain

From the domain management screen, a new domain can be added by clicking on the image7.gif.

 

The add domain screen is shown below:

Domain Name:  The domain name to be added.  This can be a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or a NETBIOS name.  

 

Active: Select this checkbox to make this domain active in SMOD by default.  If active is selected, the domain will be enumerated for all of its attributes immediately.  This may take some time, so please wait for this process to complete.
